Nahpui quarter is a good chest farming spot for only 450? a key you have a chance of getting nice celestial items and all you have to do is take a 55 with storm chaser and you can run through every monster except one boss the turtle boss. Its always 3-5 chests per run so its pretty good.

Canthan chests don't count towards Treasure Hunter though.

I'm currently farming outside Port Sledge with a Mo/W build (you really need Balanced Stance). In a ~2 minute run I get 1-4 chests (mostly 2 or 3), which is very nice. The drops are also decent (if that can differ between different zones), which is important, since those keys are far from cheap. You should try it out!
And this is how ANET fools people into thinking Factions has lots of content , by creating titles that need "rinse , wash , repeat" syndrome.

From the Description:
"High-end" Locked chests.

I assume that means Shiverpeaks, Darkstone and on...not sure about Elonian, etc though.
(And if it were all chests, everyone could have the title..ascalon ftw.)

The best shiverpeak chest drops I've found have been in Grenth's Footprints. Mind you the worst shiverpeak chest drops have been there also :S They are also fairly hard to run get, and it is not for speed. However I try not to buy keys, I usually find several farming trolls with my 55'er.

Won't work... Unless you are going for the Identified gold item title.

This thread is about the chest farming, and Ascalon Chests definitely do NOT count towards that.

I don't know about Cantha, but as far as Tyria goes, only chests from Southern Shiverpeaks, Fire Islands, UW and FoW seem to count. It doesn't matter whether you get a purple or a gold out of them though.

Snake dance - dreadnoughts, keep zoning in dreadnoughts, if you'r good you can keep going till your keys are all gone (there is a suicide chest there though, so watch it) summit warlord shields, summit shields, summit axes and golden armors all over the place

I got my Treasure Hunter title in about 3-4 hours by doing Shiverpeak Chests in Iron Mines.

And out of those 100 chests I got nothing good.. Well a 14^50 Summit Hammer.

If you could make a proper build/team, you could farm the duelists real quick... ranging from 10 sec to max 90 seconds. It took me like max 2 min to get there if I got the ONI mofos spaw on the way. The reward for the quest: 150 gold, 400 faction and 2000 XP.

Before the trapper patch with only 3 trappers you could pwnzor them in 10-20 seconds at most (I uderstand if you start trapping before mr midget sais start, it's not a "fair" fight anymore, no reward).

So, in the worst case, 2 min to get there, 2 min to kill them and 2 min to find the chest and open it. In 6 min you could do all that.

Keys would only have an actual cost of 450 gold thanks to the 150 gold reward. Let's say you farm there with 8 guildies/friends and take turns to open the chests (to see if it's gold)... it's a real good investment.

First, in 1 hour you can make at least 4k faction, 20k XP and 950 hard cash just from farming the quest . Combine that with the eventual golden drops from chests (wich tend to be extremly nice), in 1 week you could make the money to get keys and farm chests near Sledge or wherever you like.

Luxon and Kurzik chests definately count. You can run the Eternal Grove mission easily. Best with three people as you often get three chest spawns. One left, one center and one right. One person for each chest, if it's gold everyone sees that in the chat box. So long as all three goes to the same chest area each time you know where to go for the gold.

Seriously, this run is so easy a level 1 without armor could do it. You never take any damage. Ever. The whole run takes less than 4 minutes if you hit all 3 chests yourself.

elonian chests do not count- i tested that while hydra farming a few days ago. i do most of my runs through witmans folly and talus chute because both are easy to run around, but of course any time im out capping in the south shiverpeaks, i always have a hefty supply of keys.

Why not just do the Luxon supply run? You get 1-4 chest per 3 min run. You also get 150 back at the end + your 400 faction points. The chest here drop gold regularly. I have 2 mules with all nice gold drops from there. Say you avg 2 chests per run...that's 1200g for 2 keys. You get 150 back so 1050 per run. Then you get 400 faction...with the price of jadeite at about 1.5-2k per you can safely assume each 100 faction pts value at 150g so 400f= 600g. 1050-600= 450. The drops from the chest will merchant if crappy so it's essentially a free run in 3 min. Is my math wrong or does this seem free? I normally can rerun the quest and not pay for it out of my own money if you decide to resll everything to the merchant.
I've actually made a ton of gold from this by reselling the uber items that you get every now and then. =)

I've used 70 SS keys so far and found 24 golds.. 3 near perfect golds too. Seems good enough for me .
